Debra Terry has been with Presence & Co. since October 2018 and has played a key role in creating, shaping, and expanding the York team. Her energy and enthusiasm has driven the property development side of the business, growing it from a single commercial property into a diverse commercial and residential portfolio.
Debra has project managed full renovations and conversions through to final design, primarily on Grade II listed buildings across York. She works closely with clients, contractors, architects, planners, conservation officers, building control, and local authorities to ensure full compliance. Her work has been recognised with two awards at the York Design Awards, competing alongside many historic developments in the city.
With many years’ experience as a property professional, Debra has also owned and managed her own buy-to-let portfolio, giving her comprehensive knowledge of the York and surrounding property market. She is known for delivering exceptional client satisfaction through her commitment and broad understanding of both property development and management.
Before joining Presence & Co., Debra’s career spanned construction and consulting engineering, conveyancing, and over 17 years in the insurance industry with leading firms including Lloyd’s, working in senior sales, marketing, and executive support roles. Innovative, adaptable, and passionate about property, Debra continues to play a vital role in the ongoing growth of the York team, working closely with Head Office in Tunbridge Wells.
